Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What is BeautyFindr?

BeautyFindr connects clients with beauty and wellness professionals — hair stylists, barbers, nail techs, estheticians, lash and brow artists, makeup artists, spray tan artists and more. Clients describe what they want, matching pros send offers with pricing and availability, and the client picks the one that fits.

Is BeautyFindr free to use?

Yes. Creating an account is free for clients and for professionals, and there is no charge to submit a request, receive offers or book an appointment. BeautyFindr does not take a cut of your service price.

Do I need the app, or can I use the website?

Both. BeautyFindr works in any browser at beautyfindr.com, and there are free apps for iPhone and Android with push notifications for new requests, offers and last-minute openings. The web app is always the most up to date, so if you want the newest features first, open BeautyFindr in your phone, tablet or computer browser.

Which version of BeautyFindr has the newest features?

The web app. New features ship to beautyfindr.com first and the mobile apps follow, so the web version is always the most updated. You can use it on your phone, tablet or computer, and it works exactly like the app — many people add it to their home screen.

What kinds of professionals are on BeautyFindr?

Independent beauty pros, salon and spa teams, and multi-location businesses. Businesses can add team members, assign services to specific staff, and decide whether the business or the individual pro handles incoming requests.

For clients

How do I book a beauty professional?

Describe the service you want with the Beauty Concierge, or fill out the classic request form. Your request goes to matching pros in your area, and they respond with offers that include services, pricing and available times. You can also book directly with a specific pro from their profile, from the feed, or through Find a Pro.

What is the Beauty Concierge?

It is a guided, conversational way to make a request. You tell it what you want, where and roughly when, and it turns that into a request for you — no forms to figure out.

How do I accept an offer?

Offers show up on your Requests page. Compare the pro’s profile, reviews, price and availability, then accept the offer and choose the date and time that works. It becomes a confirmed booking on both calendars.

Can I request more than one service at once?

Yes. A single request can include several services, such as color and a cut. Offers can be itemized per service, with separate scheduling when the services happen at different times.

How do I pay?

You pay your professional directly, the same way you would if you booked with them any other way. BeautyFindr does not process payments and never holds your money.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Open the booking on your Appointments page and request a cancellation or a change. Your pro is notified right away and can offer a new time.

What happens if nobody responds to my request?

Requests expire if no pro responds in time. You can submit a new request, widen the services or dates, or book directly with a specific pro instead.

What are Open Chair alerts?

When a pro has a last-minute opening, they post it as an Open Chair alert. Clients nearby get notified so those slots get filled instead of going to waste.

What is the SOS toggle?

SOS is a switch on your request that flags it as an emergency. Turn it on from the request and professionals are notified that you need someone ASAP, with your request marked SOS so it stands out from everything else in their list. You can turn it back off at any time and the request goes back to normal.

What is an SOS premium?

When you turn on SOS you set a premium — either a dollar amount or a percentage — that you are willing to add on top of the service price for last-minute, drop-everything availability. Pros see the suggested total when they send you an offer, and you still choose whether to accept.

When should I use SOS?

Use it when timing matters more than price: a same-day event, a cancellation you need covered, a color correction before a trip. For normal planning, leave SOS off — a regular request already reaches every matching pro in your area.

How do reviews work?

After an appointment you can leave a rating and review for your pro from your Appointments page. Reviews are tied to real bookings, so they help other clients know what to expect.

For professionals and businesses

How do I get more client requests?

Complete your profile, list your services with accurate pricing and duration, add your address or service area, upload work to your portfolio, and get verified. The more complete and active your profile, the more requests you are matched with.

What happens when I send an offer?

The client is notified, can view your profile and reviews, and can accept your offer or keep comparing. Once they accept and pick a time, it becomes a confirmed booking on your calendar.

Can I offer only some of the services a client asked for?

Yes. You choose which of the requested services you want to offer and set times only for those. The client sees exactly what you are offering and at what price.

How does Open Chair fill last-minute openings?

Post the opening from your dashboard and it goes out to clients in your area by push notification and email, and appears in the feed. It is built to turn cancellations back into booked time.

What should I include in an Open Chair post?

The service, the date and exact time window, the location and the price — many pros add a discount to fill the slot fast. Clients can book it straight from the alert, and the opening also shows on your profile under Open Chair until it is taken or expires. Posting Open Chair alerts requires a verified profile with at least one service listed.

What are SOS requests and should I take them?

An SOS request is a client flagging their request as an emergency. It is marked SOS in your requests list, and the client can attach a premium — a set dollar amount or a percentage on top of your price — for dropping everything to fit them in. When you build the offer you see the suggested total with the premium included, and you can still set your own price.

How do I get paid?

Clients pay you directly. BeautyFindr brings you the booking and keeps your calendar straight; the transaction stays between you and your client.

Does BeautyFindr work with Square Appointments?

Yes. You can connect Square to import your services, pricing and staff, use your real Square availability when offers are sent, and keep bookings synced in both directions so you are not double-booked.

What does being verified mean?

Verification confirms your identity and your professional license or credentials where they apply. Verified pros build trust faster and tend to get more requests.

Can my team or an assistant help manage my account?

Yes. Businesses can invite team members and assign services to specific staff, and individual pros can invite an assistant with limited permissions, such as handling requests, messages or the portfolio.

What does it cost to join as a professional?

Joining and setting up your profile is free. Paid plans exist for pros who want more capacity, and current pricing is always listed on the Pricing page.

How does BeautyFindr decide which pros see my request?

By service and location. Your request goes to professionals who offer what you asked for and who work in or travel to your area, based on their address or service area and the distance you set.

Account and privacy

Can I message pros or clients through BeautyFindr?

Yes. Messaging is built in for booking details and follow-ups. Clients who are not mutual followers with a pro send a message request first, so nobody gets unwanted messages.

How is my personal information handled?

Client contact details are only shared with a pro in connection with a real request or booking, and full profile data is never exposed publicly. The Privacy Policy explains what is collected and how it is used.
